A 1943 graduate of Charles L. Coon, Wiggins was an All-State football player in high school and, according to local research, believed to be one of the first serious weightlifters in this area. Wiggins, who died in 1963 at the age of 40, was married to the former Peggy Turner of Wilson. The Wiggins’ family consisted of four boys: Harvey, Hart, Bill and Burt. Wiggins worked with Hackney Wagon Co., helped Roy Gatchel in building a Wilson landmark, The Creamery, and Later went with Eastern Motor Corp.

Peggy Wiggins served for years as a highly-respected member of the AC staff.
