GAFFNEY, S.C. – Limestone College scored the game's first 14 points en route to a 95-33 victory over the Barton College women's basketball team on Saturday night in the Timken Center.
The loss was the fourth straight defeat for Barton (5-9, 3-4) as the Lady Bulldogs struggled from the floor, making just 12-of-60 attempts to shoot a season-low 20 percent as a team. Nationally-ranked No. 10 Limestone (12-0, 7-0) shot 48.4 percent from the field and forced BC into committing 31 turnovers in the game.
After opening the game on a 14-0 run, Limestone held an 18-4 advantage after the first quarter. The Saints turned that into a 45-18 margin at intermission as their lead was never challenged. Limestone outscored Barton 50-15 in the second half leading to the 62-point defeat.
Freshman Dinah Neal scored a career-high 12 points in 17 minutes with five rebounds as no other Lady Bulldog scored more than four points in the contest.
Barton returns home for a rematch with Erskine College on Wednesday, January 13 at 5:30 p.m. in Wilson Gymnasium. The Flying Fleet handed Barton a 68-63 loss on January 5 in Due West, S.C.
