HIGH POINT, N.C. – For the second week in a row, Barton College senior Sharon Kiptoo has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Kiptoo was honored after finishing 10th out of 132 runners at the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate University. Her performance came against the best field of the year, as the region's top programs competed on the same course which will host the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional in November

The Eldoret, Kenya, resident posted a 6K time of 24:23.3 on the difficult layout at the Wingate XC Facility.

Kiptoo is being recognized with Player of the Week honors for the third time in her Barton career in cross country, and for the seventh time including those given in track and field.

She was presented with the award last week after finishing as the top collegiate runner and placing sixth overall out of 96 competitors in the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C.

Kiptoo and the Lady Bulldogs will return to action this weekend in the Royals Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Queens University at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C. The race will be the final one for Barton before the Conference Carolinas Championships are held on October 20.
