WILSON, N.C. –  The Barton men's volleyball team hit .363, the 14th time hitting over .300 in a match, en route to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-20) Conference Carolinas win over Lees-McRae College on Friday night in Wilson Gym.

Barton (17-5, 14-2) was led by 12 kills from sophomore Vasilis Mandilaris who hit .500 in the match and chipped in three service aces. Freshman Angelos Mandilaris followed with 10 kills of his own and seven digs, while sophomore Aleksa Brkovic had eight kills. Senior Federico Pagliara paced the offense with 33 assists.

The Bulldogs were in control early, lead 5-1 in the first set after back-to-back attack errors from Lees-McRae (9-14, 7-8). The Bobcats were able to cut the BC lead down to two points late in the set but the lead was too much to overcome.

After Lees-McRae responded with a 7-3 run to start the second set of action, Barton weathered the storm and fought back to take a 14-13 lead midway through. LMC tied the score at 17-all, but three unanswered points including a service ace from sophomore Nick Leary put BC ahead for good.

The third set saw just two ties on the scoreboard as the Royal Blue and White never trailed leading to the straight-set win.

Barton welcomes King (Tenn.) University to Wilson Gym tomorrow as the top two teams in the league square off at 2 p.m.
