HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College freshman Diego Agudelo was named All-Conference Carolinas Third Team, the league announced Thursday. Agudelo was BC's lone selection heading into the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship that begins on Friday.

Agudelo, a native of Bogata, Colombia was selected to an all-conference team for the first time after posting an 11-5 mark in singles play for the Bulldogs. Agudelo played primarily at the No. 3 position for BC, going 8-5 overall. He tallied a 7-3 mark in league play and went 7-3 in his last 10 singles matches for the Bulldogs. Agudelo also went 1-0 at the No. 2 position and 2-0 at the No. 4 position for Barton.

He played at both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions for Barton, going 4-3 with junior Jesus Gil at the No. 2 spot. He also went 2-4 playing at the No. 1 position with freshman Oscar Marmestedt.

The BC men (6-12, 4-6) finished the regular season with a pair of wins at home against North Greenville University and Southern Wesleyan. The Bulldogs have won three of their last four matches. The Bulldogs will square off on Friday at 12 p.m. against No. 2 seed the University of Mount Olive. The winner of the quarterfinal matchup will advance to face the winner of King University/Chowan University on Saturday at 12 p.m. BC dropped a pair of matches during the regular season to Mount Olive as the Trojans recorded a 5-2 win back in February along with an 8-1 victory at home on April 3.
