MURFREESBORO, N.C.-Six different Bulldogs contributed to multiple goals as the Barton College men's soccer team coasted to a 10-0 non-conference road win at Chowan University on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Dante De Luca paced the way with his first hat trick of the season as Barton finished the regular season over .500 at 8-7-1. The Bulldogs won seven consecutive road games in the month of October.

De Luca increased his team-high goal total to 12 with his second career hat trick. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native has had great success scoring against Chowan, netting his first hat trick against the Hawks in 2012. De Luca has eight career goals in three games against CU.

The Bulldogs had seven different goal scorers with freshman Alex David netting his first two collegiate tallies. Senior Archer Bane and junior Danilo Matos each contributed four points with one goal and two assists apiece. Senior Patrick Schultze, junior Nick Ahlquist and freshman Austin Tausch added BC's other marks with their first goals of the season.

Juniors Erik Pajunk and Nathan Spears assisted on half of the Bulldogs goals. Pajunk had three first-half helpers and Spears followed with two in the second half.

De Luca leads Conference Carolinas with 31 points and Pajunk tops the league charts with 12 assists.

Senior Vasily Yakimkin and sophomore Derek Collins combined for the shutout. Yakimkin made a pair of saves on Chowan's only two shots on goal in the first half while Collins was untested in the second half.

Barton took the lead for good just three minutes and 35 seconds into play as De Luca found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Matos. Bane added BC's second score in the 21st minute on a breakaway opportunity before a pair of Bulldog tallies in a three-minute span doubled up the visitor's cushion to 4-0. Matos scored in the 31st minute on a rebounded shot by Bane before De Luca produced his second goal in the 34th minute. Ahlquist closed out Barton's scoring in the first half with a 42nd-minute shot inside the far post.

Pajunk, who entered the week ranked 13th nationally with 0.60 assists per game, assisted on goals by Bane, De Luca and Ahlquist in a 20-minute window.

The Bulldogs tacked on five more goals after the intermission. De Luca completed his hat trick to begin the second-half scoring in the 57th minute. For the second time Wednesday, Matos picked up an assist on a De Luca goal.

David found the back twine twice to push Barton's advantage to eight goals. David first beat the Hawks goalie for an open-net tally in the 69th minute before heading in a crossing pass by Bane in the 78th minute. Tausch joined the scoring in the 84th minute putting away a pass from sophomore Austin Foster. Schultze capped off Barton's offensive onslaught with an 89th minute header off a corner kick by Spears, who also assisted on David's first goal.

Barton reached the 10-goal plateau for the first time since defeating Lincoln Christian (Ill.) University, 11-4, to end its 2008 season.

Chowan (1-13 overall) has lost to the Bulldogs for eight consecutive years.

Barton will host a quarterfinals game in the 2013 Conference Carolinas Tournament for a third straight season. The Bulldogs earned the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 seed Pfeiffer University on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
