Barton College men’s golf ends up in fifth place at the Battle at Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Barton men's golf team took fifth place overall out of 13 schools at the Battle at Hilton Head with the second and final round coming on Tuesday at the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Dunes.

Barton shot a 598 (+22) on the par-72, 6,651-yard course while Lincoln Memorial rallied to beat No. 11 Henderson State by one stroke with a 579 (+3).

Barton sophomore Bryson Boyette (Wilson, N.C.) tied for second overall with a three-under 141 to lead the Bulldogs.  Boyette shot under par both days – including two-under for the second round – while the Railsplitters' Sam Broadhurst was the top individual with a 131 (-13).

The Bulldogs host the Barton Intercollegiate on Monday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 12, at the Wilson Country Club in Wilson, N.C.
