HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Chris Flemmings has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the fifteenth voting period of the season.
Flemmings averaged 30.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in a pair of league road wins that helped the Bulldogs seal a share of the Conference Carolinas regular-season title.
The sophomore from Cary, N.C., poured in 25 points in a huge win at then third-place Limestone College, and followed that performance up with a career-high 36-point night at Pfeiffer University.
Flemmings shot 63 percent from 3-point range while firing in six 3-pointers in each contest (12 of 19). He shot 49 percent from the field overall (18 of 37) and 81 percent from the line (13 of 16) in the victories.
The 6-5 guard led Barton to six straight wins and 12 victories in 14 games. Flemmings is tied for third in the league in scoring, (20.4 ppg), seventh in rebounding (6.8) and tenth in 3-point field goal percentage (40.6 percent).
Barton will host a quarterfinal game of the 2014 Conference Carolinas Tournament on Saturday March 1. The opponent has not been determined.
