Athletic Training Intern
Jackson Thompson joined the Barton College Athletic Training staff in August 2017 as an Athletic Training Intern.
Thompson is a native of Henderson, N.C. and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2017.
During his time at UNC-Chapel Hill, Thompson assisted the athletic training staff at Carrboro High School and Northwood High School in a variety of varsity and junior varsity sports. In addition to his off-campus occupations, Thompson worked with the UNC athletic training staff for the following university sports teams: wrestling, cross country, women’s lacrosse, and baseball.
Thompson also completed an internship with the Carolina Mudcats through the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer Society as well as an internship with the Tournament of Stars via USA Baseball.
While at UNC, Thompson also served as a Sports Programs Supervisor with Campus Recreation for intramural and club sports. In his spare time, Thompson participated on several intramural sports teams, including football, basketball, and softball.
